Artistic Monuments of Moravia and Silesia

The third volume of the Art Monuments of Moravia and Silesia organically follows on from the previous volumes (A-I, 1994; J-N, 1999) – in form, research methodology and processing; all this was explained in the Introduction to Volume 1. It deals with 270 settlement units, towns, cities, villages and their parts in the defined territory (see map on the proposed appendix) in alphabetical order sub nos. 655-802, containing works of artistic nature ranging from Slavic culture to the present. It deals with historical urbanism, works of architecture, sculpture, painting and artistic craftsmanship - when found in situ. It also mentions depository institutions, archives and museums, and characterizes their art collections in a comprehensive way. An important part of this volume is an index of artists with basic biographical information, including some 3,000 names included in the works published to date, as well as a pictorial folder representing 2010 photographs and 356 drawings.
