On One Ship. Globalisation and homelessness in Czech cities

The book is an interdisciplinary and multimethodological study of homelessness in the Czech Republic. In it, the author shows the reader how homelessness materializes at the intersection of political-economic factors, such as the democratization of society or integration into the global economy, and specific accompanying logics emerging at the intersection of street culture and certain conditions characteristic of Czech society. Against the background of the case study of Pilsen and a comparison with some elements of homelessness in the United States and slums in Latin America, he argues that homelessness is not an exclusion from society, as is generally accepted by the general public and a large part of the professional community, but rather a systemic component of contemporary cities.
