In Search of the Unknown Creatures of the Amazon Forest

Zoological research in the Amazon forest is an adventure. It is necessary to overcome natural obstacles, to gain the trust of the locals, to hunt animals. The Amazon astounds us with the beauty and species abundance of its nature. In many places, it remains hard to access. That is why it is still possible to find in the Amazon species of plants and animals unknown to science. It is still possible to explore in places that naturalists have not reached yet, and there is still much to discover. The book In Search of the Unknown Creatures of the Amazon Forest tells the story of the author's experience and scientific knowledge gained during twenty-four research expeditions to the rainforests of the lowland Amazon, the cloud forests of the Andes and the dry plains of the Altiplano. It is loosely based on the author's previous book Procházka amazonským pralesem (A Walk in the Amazon Rainforest).
