Meadows. The Adventure of Exploration

The basic aim of the book is to explain the functioning of the meadow community and to describe the mechanisms contributing to the preservation of its diversity. Parallels between the processes shaping meadow plant communities and human society will help to understand them. The publication is based on long-term research of the meadows of the Krkonoše (Giant) Mountains carried out by researchers from the Botanical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Průhonice, as well as other domestic and foreign research. Readers will also learn basic information about the origin and history of meadows in the Czech Republic, especially in the Krkonoše (Giant Mountains), as well as about the conservation problems and challenges faced by meadows here. The book is accompanied by a rich visual content - interior views of several Krkonoše meadow communities and diagrams illustrating the different ways in which meadow plants coexist
