Moths and Caterpillars of Central Europe. VI., Small Moths II.

ŠUMPICH JAN, LIŠKA JAN, LAŠTŮVKA ZDENĚK

This volume concludes the six-volume series Moths and Caterpillars of Central Europe, published by Academia since 2007. It includes the remaining eleven families. All the species discovered in the Czech Republic and Slovakia are briefly described and illustrated, about 1,200 species in total. For each of them, the wingspan and possibly important taxonomic characters, the host plant, the period of occurrence of caterpillars and adults, the habitat, the general distribution and the knowledge about the distribution in our territory are given. Other Central European species (a total of about 1,500 species of this family are known from Central Europe) are at least mentioned or briefly commented. The complete series of atlases thus provides basic information on all families and the vast majority of Central European moth species, which is unparalleled in this country or elsewhere in Central Europe.
