Aquatic and Wetland Plants of the Czech Republic

NAVRÁTILOVÁ JANA, ŠUMBEROVÁ KATEŘINA, KUČEROVÁ ANDREA

This atlas presents photographs of 450 species of charophyta, bryophyta, lycophyta, pteridophyta, and spermatophyta found in standing and running waters or in seasonally flooded, waterlogged or consistently moist habitats across the Czech Republic. Each photograph is accompanied by a description and ecological characteristics of each species, along with information on its distribution in the Czech Republic, and notes on possible uses or toxicity. A brief introductory section outlines the basic ecology of individual aquatic and wetland plant groups, their communities, and their ecosystem functions and services. The atlas is intended for a broad range of readers interested in plant life in Czech aquatic and wetland environments and serves as a valuable reference for both professional and amateur conservationists, as well as for teaching at secondary schools and universities with a focus on natural sciences, fisheries, agriculture, forestry, and water management.
