Bloody Summer 1945

PADEVĚT JIŘÍ

In the book The Bloody Summer of 1945, a loose continuation of the author's previous book The Bloody Finale, the reader will find information about the violence that took place on the territory of today's Czech Republic in the period May-August 1945.

These are mainly events connected with the so-called wild removal of Czech and Moravian Germans, but also events in which the perpetrators were soldiers of the Red Army and other armies operating on our territory. The events are treated in the form of place names, and the author does not deliberately evaluate them in any way, but only tries to describe what happened in the given place. While reading, the reader will realise that the violence unleashed by Nazi Germany did not end on 8 May 1945, but unfortunately continued on, albeit with different actors as perpetrators and victims.

The text of the book is supplemented by extensive pictorial material.
