Neolithic of East Bohemia

The book introduces a new perspective on the group of early agricultural communities of the first half of the 5th century BCE; it presents a case study focusing on the area of East Bohemia which at that time found itself on a periphery of the former western prehistoric cultural sphere. The unique nature of the studied region becomes apparent especially in the broader Central-European context, in particular from the perspective of long-distance distribution of stone materials; these belong to key attributes which help us model the regional hierarchy of individual sites and identify individuals or groups with high social status. The argument of the book is based on the evaluation of extensive excavations of two Neolithic sites.
